Children's Champions Speaker's Bureau
Become a Champion for Early Childhood Education.
Fulfill your passion for helping children with our Children’s Champion Speakers’ Bureau (CCSB), a network of volunteer speakers who present to Valley parents, early childcare professionals and advocates on the importance of early care and education of children from birth to five.
Presentations serve to inform the wider community on how and where to access local resources, as well as provide tips on how to advocate on behalf of Arizona children.
Registration for our free trainings is offered to 40 participants, and CEU credit and a certificate of completion are offered. Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 34 hours per year, which includes two, eight-hour sessions of public speaking training. Training is offered twice a year, in February and September. Check back soon for details and to register for our fall training session.
Bring a Children's Champion to Your Organization
Provide your community with increased access to early childcare and education resources – invite a Children’s Champion Speaker to your next meeting. Speakers provide information on early child development that benefits children from birth to five, increasing awareness of how to ensure children are safe, healthy and ready to enter school.
We can accommodate speaking requests in either English or Spanish, and provide a resource chart that includes vital information about health and educational resources in your area. You’ll also learn how to advocate for issues impacting the welfare of our children, including health insurance, quality childcare and increased childcare subsidies.
Download a printable speakers’ bureau flyer, and contact Kelli Gentile at kgentile@vsuw.org to schedule a presentation.
