Partnering with wonderful volunteers and the Arizona Housing Coalition to serve those who have served us is so important to our community. Last Thursday and Friday at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum, nearly 2,000 veterans currently experiencing or near homelessness came to Maricopa County StandDown to receive services such as housing assistance, legal help, obtaining a birth certificate or ID, and more.
Some of the amazing things volunteers and service providers made possible this year include:
- 812 court cases addressed
- 140 ultrasound visits
- 185 housing connections
- 1,769 dental services performed
- 45 veterinary services
Thank you to all the providers and volunteers for joining us! Fighting for our veterans at Maricopa County StandDown is part of our mission to break the cycle of poverty for kids, families, and neighborhoods. Check out our other volunteer opportunities to see how you can get involved in the fight.
