Women United Member Spotlight

Q: In today’s busy world, tell us one thing you do on a regular basis to ensure ‘self-care’.

A: I maintain consistent communications with my friends and family. It’s important to create and maintain a good balance between our professional and personal lives. I get caught up with my friends and family during my commute and it truly starts and ends my day on a positive note.

Q: Tell us about a leadership trait that you possess and why you think it’s important.

A: Clear communications is vital to ensure your team has a solid understanding of their responsibilities and to truly build a solid team. Once everyone understands what the goal is and what is expected of each team member to ensure team success.

Q: What does ‘Sisterhood’ mean to you?

A: Sisterhood is very important. I tell my young nieces that you will have wonderful spouse and children someday… but, never lose the important women in your life. They are the ones that you will share your life with… both the struggles and the victories. Your “sisters” will always listen, they won’t judge, they are honest with you and want nothing but happiness for you. They are your personal cheerleader that you can enjoy a glass of wine and laughter with. One of my closest girlfriends and I have known each other for over 43 years. We helped one another through those “awkward” years.

Q: Why does Philanthropy matter?

A: Helping others through a struggling time in their lives while trying to reach their best possible life.

Q: Tell us something that most people wouldn’t know about you.

A: I am a five year thyroid cancer survivor. I am doing well and am very thankful for the support I received from family, friends and colleagues.

Q: What makes you laugh out loud?

A: My husband! He is a total goofball and says the most off the wall things that totally crack me up.
