On behalf of Valley of the Sun United Way, thank you for your interest in serving as a Table Captain for our annual We Are United Breakfast taking place on April 30, 2024 at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown.
Table Captains are a key component to the success of this event and our fundraising efforts. As a Table Captain, we are asking that you commit to raising $3,000 or more for Valley of the Sun United Way. Together, we are inviting colleagues, friends, family and business associates to learn more about our mighty goals for families and individuals in Maricopa County.
While the breakfast is a fundraiser, it is also a unique opportunity for you and your guests to connect, network and be inspired. We know we will find great success because of incredible people and devoted partners like YOU!
Table Captain: How To
1. Confirm Your Responsibility
Invite as many guests as you can, securing 9, and inviting the others to make a contribution to help you reach your goal of $3,000 or more if they are unable to attend! Consider guests who may want to know more about corporate engagement and volunteerism, individual donors who may want to be more invested in giving and advocacy work.
2. Invite Your Guests
As a Table Captain, you will have 9 seats to fill, with you as the 10th guest. You will be provided with some sample language you may find helpful when inviting folks to join you and help you reach your fundraising goal for this event.
3. Register Your Guests
As a Table Captain, there are two ways of ensuring your guests are registered and are properly seated at your table.
One option is to have your guests register themselves.
Through the link, which you will receive in January 2024, have your guests select your name from the list of Table Captains. We will keep in touch with you to share lists of guests who have registered under your name, providing you an opportunity to follow-up and ensure registration by Monday, April 22, 2024.
The other option is to register all of your guests yourself.
You are welcome to register your guests at once, selecting yourself as the Table Captain. This option allows you to keep track of the number of guests confirmed at your table. No matter which option you choose, we will keep in touch with you and your guests and provide important event information along the way.
