PHOENIX, December 9, 2013 – East Valley Women (EVW) is pleased to bring to the Valley of the Sun, one of Arizona’s own, Alison Levine. The community is welcomed to join us on Thursday, December 19th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Casino Arizona Pavilion at US Airways Center located at 201 E Jefferson, Phoenix, for an evening with Alison Levine and free parking is available in the US Airways Center Garage. Everyone attending will receive a gift card to purchase Alison’s new book, On the Edge: The Art of High Impact Leadership, to be released on January 7, 2014.

This community event is in partnership with Valley of the Sun United Way’s Destination Graduation program at Central High School and Phoenix Suns Charities. Alison is a history-making adventurer who has climbed the highest peak on each continent, served as team captain of the first American Women’s Everest Expedition, and skied to both the North Pole and South Pole. Levine currently serves as an adjunct instructor at the United States Military Academy at West Point in the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership and is the author of On the Edge: The Art of High Impact Leadership. Having spent prolonged periods of time in some of the world’s most dangerous and inhospitable places, she addresses the topics of creating cohesive teams, taking responsible risks and developing no-nonsense leaders that can succeed in times of uncertainty.

“Bringing home one of our own to share her leadership and insight is inspiring to the entire community.” said JoAnn Holland, CEO and Founder of East Valley Women. “Our organization benefits our communities by offering women who wish to enhance their leadership by connecting with likeminded women to share information, ideas, contacts and opportunities. This is one of the high impact speakers who will motivate all of us!”

East Valley Women is a private organization. EVW is a membership organization and we are women who work, live or play in the East Valley and share a pride in the uniqueness of our community. In our busy, productive lives, we will come together once a month for a networking breakfast and the opportunity to enjoy mutual interests and the exchange of new ideas with other like-minded women. It is our common desire to strengthen friendships, strengthen community, and enhance the true spirit of the East Valley community.
