Well-known community leader and region legal counsel for US Foods to serve two-year term; Brad Smith of Deloitte appointed to serve as Board Secretary
PHOENIX — The Board of Directors of the Valley of the Sun United Way recently named Jenny Holsman Tetreault as its new chair. Her two-year term as chair began July 1.
Tetreault, who serves as region legal counsel for US Foods, has been extensively involved in the United Way on the local and national levels, as well as a broad spectrum of philanthropic groups in the Valley. Tetreault is a current member of United Way’s Women United Global Leadership Council, and previously served on the Women United Steering Committee locally, where she served as co-chair for 4 years. She has served on the United Way board since 2017.
“I am very excited to begin this new chapter of service with Valley of the Sun United Way as the Board Chair,” Tetreault said. “This is a dynamic time for the organization as we welcome new CEO Carla Vargas Jasa, and I am privileged to work with such an exceptional group of talented board members to chart the future of the organization.”
Tetreault serves as region legal counsel at US Foods, one of the leading foodservice distributors in the United States. With over $23B in annual revenue, US Foods is a Fortune 125 company. The company offers more than 350,000 national brand products and its own “exclusive brand” items, ranging from fresh meats and produce to prepackaged and frozen foods. She is graduate of Arizona State University (magna cum laude and Barrett Honors College). She earned both her masters and law degrees from Syracuse University, where she was named the Outstanding Law School Graduate upon her graduation.
Tetreault is very active in the community and currently serves as Co-Chair of Wings of Gold for Sun Devil Athletics and as the as the Board Chair for the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Community Legal Services, Syracuse University Law School Association, the Sun Devil Club, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, Charter 100, the Cactus-Pine Council of the Girl Scouts, Florence Crittenton, the Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona, Herberger Theater, Kids at Hope, Farm Express and the United Food Bank.
Brad Smith, managing partner of Deloitte’s Phoenix tax practice, will serve as Board Secretary. Smith is the Office Tax Managing Partner for Deloitte’s Phoenix tax practice. He has over 25 years of experience in public accounting, and has consulted with a wide variety of businesses and their owners. He also has leadership responsibility for all community involvement matters of Deloitte’s Phoenix office. Smith has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pepperdine University.
