Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and Vice Mayor Laura Pastor to Attend
PHOENIX, Arizona (October 31, 2017) – One of Phoenix’s oldest neighborhoods is about to get a thriving new center to support its families.
After a year of hard work, the Isaac Family Resource Center will open to the public, thanks to the collaboration of Isaac School District staff and parents, Valley of the Sun United Way, Phoenix IDA, International Interior Designers Association, and the community.
The resource center will open with the support of Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, Vice Mayor Laura Pastor, Isaac School District staff, parents and community members. The center would serve as a “community hub” of resources where individuals can obtain support to overcome challenges, create healthy connections, and participate in opportunities that promote leadership and giving back to the community.

“We are looking forward to the completion of this significant project and are so appreciative of the support of our families and community partners who have invested their time, talents, and resources to make this project a reality,” said Isaac School District Superintendent Dr. Mario Ventura. “We know the Isaac Family Resource Center will serve as an important resource in our community, and it’s been a great source of pride to see so many of our schools’ parents and community members lead the work on this initiative.”
“We are proud to have been a part of such an important project,” said Francisco Avalos, director of engagement at Valley of the Sun United Way. “We partnered on this project last year at our inaugural Day of Action and it’s been incredible to see the impact of that first day and how much progress has been made in the last year. We know this will be a great asset to Maryvale and look forward to seeing how community members utilize this space.”
