Valley of the Sun United Way Aims to Recruit 1,500 Volunteers for Day of Action on September 16

United Way Asks Volunteers, Community Members to Unite for Week of Service to Help Break the Cycle of Poverty

PHOENIX (August 15, 2017) – It’s a simple fact: We have a greater impact when we work UNITED. That’s why Valley of the Sun United Way is inviting volunteers to come together for a week of service culminating with the Day of Action on Saturday, September 16.

Volunteers will assemble school readiness kits (SRK’s), participate in an elementary school mural painting, school beautification projects, installing and planting a fall garden in community neighborhoods and schools, or even help to distribute smoke detectors to residents in the town of Guadalupe.
