On January 25 and 26, a community came together for one cause – to help veterans. At the Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum people and pets from all over the Valley came through the annual Maricopa County StandDown event to end veteran homelessness.
Here are the Details
- Together, we served 1,658 veterans
- More than 400 of the veterans served are homeless or in transitional housing
- Dental services, available for the first time this year, helped 300 people
- Other services included acupuncture, legal, MVD, vision, haircuts, housing, VA and more
Thank You Volunteers and Partners!
Without our 800+ volunteers and our parnters this wouldn’t be possible. Thank you for being the game changers.
Upcoming Opportunity
We need volunteers for the February 22 Project Connect! Similar to StandDown, Project Connect is an event where families and individuals experiencing or nearing homelessness can connect to services that can help them get back on their feet. We are looking for friendly faces and helping hands to act as guest guides to connect with guests and help them find the services to help them with their specific situation.
