What A Community Can Do In Just One Day

You may have heard that Valley of the Sun United Way is hosting the 2nd annual UNITE: A Day of Action on Saturday, September 16, but do you know why?

UNITE: A Day of Action was started to bring true partnership to our community members. There’s a power people have when leaders in our neighborhood come together to make real change happen and break the cycle of poverty.

Last year, we had 9 different volunteer locations around the Valley; as the effort has grown, we now have almost 20 volunteer activities this year that need more game changers, more leaders, more hand raisers, more volunteers to participate in a collaborative effort to rally for your community.

We are working with neighborhoods to find out what their greatest needs are and uniting to make them happen.

Are you a person of action? Are you ready to fight to break the cycle of poverty?

We still need volunteers.

Melvin E. Sine School and Esperanza Elementary School will have beautification projects on site this Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. including sprucing up the nurses office and the playgrounds. Sign up now to join us!
