Creating change is as simple as taking one small action and sharing it to inspire others. That’s the idea behind our 100 Acts of Impact Challenge; a social media challenge launched as part of Valley of the Sun United Way’s 100th Anniversary celebration.
This challenge invites community members, donors, partners, organizations, and volunteers to complete bite-sized Acts of Impact and share it on social media – sparking a Valley-wide movement of tangible difference.
To go hand and hand with the launch, we had our 2025 100th Birthday Celebration and Day of Action, where over 200 volunteers gathered across our region to dedicate their time and energy to meaningful projects. In just one day, the results spoke volumes:
🌳 250 Garden Kits assembled for community gardens
📚 500 Book-In-A-Bags created to encourage early childhood literacy
🎒 3,000 Snack Packs packed to support students across the Valley
🩵 2,500 Feminine Hygiene Kits prepared for individuals in need
Additionally, we’ve also seen partner organizations leading by example:
💙 Gervonni Cares Inc. – participated by providing and donating hygiene kits
💛 Sojourner Center – joined us by bringing together many Bank of America volunteers to work in their pet center
🧡Homeless Youth Connection – packed holiday gift bags for youth in the community
💚 Helios Education – gave their time by hosting their annual Read to the Final Four with the NCAA
❤️ Salt River Project – made an impact by revitalizing a community garden
💙 Bankers Trust – made a generous $10,000 donation to Valley of the Sun United Way
And that is just the beginning! We want YOU to share your impact, big or small, to inspire community change.

1️⃣ Do an Act of Impact: Volunteer, donate, mentor, clean up a park, or spread kindness.
2️⃣ Share It Online: Post a photo or short video on social media.
3️⃣ Tag & Hashtag It: Use #100Years100Acts #100ActsWithVSUW and tag @myvsuw.
4️⃣ Nominate Others: Encourage your friends, family, and coworkers to join in!
