In Maricopa County, the reality is 667,000 people are experiencing poverty and 1 in 4 of those people are children. But united, we fight for students. At Academia del Pueblo, a public charter elementary school in the shadow of downtown, about 80 plus students identify as homeless.
See what Principal Frank says about his experience partnering with Valley of the Sun United Way.
By providing all students with resources they need to do well in school, we are supporting their future and breaking the cycle of poverty. This is just one part of our fight. Change won't happen alone. We must unite to help even more schools in our community, and we must fight.
