In partnership with the Promotores HOPE Network and Isaac Elementary School District and Foundation, 31 Maryvale Promotores opened up a community resource house to help neighbors discover food access and human service resources with our support.
In Maryvale, a home was donated to a local school district many years ago. Following the request of parents in the community for a Community Hub, the Isaac Elementary School District began the process of converting this house previously used as a storage facility into a thriving community center for families. This process was led by the 31 Maryvale Promotores and supported by additional United Way volunteers.
The Maryvale Promotores are the community leaders who continue the fight to end poverty in their community, who work one-on-with with neighbors to assess their needs and provide guidance and unite toward a solution to community and personal struggles. United Way is proud to support these community leaders. Get the full story in this video:
Together, the Heart of Isaac Community Center is now a healthy space where individuals can invest in their family and community’s health outcomes.
