Valley of the Sun United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) is full of people on a mission and they’re inviting you to be a part of it. On Friday, April 28, WLC is hosting a luncheon starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale. You will discover three incredible things at the luncheon - making it an event you will definitely do not want to miss!
Actor Geena Davis will be the featured guest speaker at the luncheon and will share her story and provide an empowering message about the importance of bringing women together to take action. She is an Academy Award winner and can be seen in the films “Thelma and Louise,” “A League of Their Own,” and “The Accidental Tourist” in addition to many others.
Breakfast in the Classroom is a program that provides breakfast to children in schools with high rates of poverty and hunger. The proceeds from this event will help WLC and United Way grow the program to 130 classrooms in Maricopa County, ensuring children will start their day with a nutritious breakfast, which is necessary to help them focus on learning.
Many people dedicated to providing breakfast for more kids in our community will be attending this luncheon. This could be your chance to get to know people who share your passions and come together to make a change.
