As the holidays near and the air is filled with cheer, we begin to think back on the year and all the good times we had. At Valley of the Sun United Way, we see all the wonderful things you made possible! Together, we unite against the cycle of poverty, fighting for kids, families, and neighborhoods.
Because of You:
- 11,823 students received School Readiness Kits
- 204 students were connected to Vello tutors
- 298,555 mentoring hours were achieved in after-school programs
- 47,723 children received Breakfast in the Classroom (that’s 8.6 MILLION meals!)
- 520 kids receive WeekEnd Hunger Backpacks each week (that’s 131,040 MEALS a year!)
- 537,169 people received emergency meals
- 7,475 adults obtained employment
- 31 health leaders were trained to support community residents
- 585,479 emergency shelter nights for people experiencing homelessness
- 1,231 people were placed in permanent supportive housing
- 220 people were placed in rapid rehousing
