Students from the Phoenix Union High School District recently got an up-close look at opportunities for careers in the energy industry through the Aspire-Legacy program supported by United Way. Employees working in a variety of roles at APS shared stories of their day-to-day lives on the job before guiding the students on a tour of the facility.
Students who go through the four-month program come away with Career Technical-based education as well as training in financial literacy, resume writing, job interviews, life skills and health/wellness. Two of the program’s graduating seniors have already been hired in the energy industry.
Watch to see highlights of their tour and hear from the experts on how this program is developing Arizona’s future workforce.
