On a day where we celebrate our country, it is important to recognize veterans who have fought for our freedom. People like Bessie. Bessie is a veteran who struggled with homelessness until she was connected to organizations willing to fight for her right to happiness as she has done for us.
Unfortunately, there are veterans who have not received the help they deserve and don’t know where they will be sleeping tonight, or where they can turn to. That’s why Valley of the Sun United Way partners with organizations that unite against homelessness for our veterans. Vets in need of assistance can look to some of our partners for the following services.

These are just a few of the many United Way partners helping veterans. Just as Bessie says, “There’s so many people out there that can use this education, and IT’S FREE!” Let’s help veterans get help by sharing these resources and join us by volunteering to assist veterans first hand at our next Project Connect on July 26th at The Salvation Army in Surprise.
