The unfortunate truth in Maricopa County is many individuals and families struggle to make ends meet every day. This truth is what inspired the start of Project Connect.
On Thursday, November 2, South Mountain Community College is hosting Project Connect, where Valley of the Sun United Way gathers health and human resource partners for a resource fair. It can often take days to make it to all the resources necessary for someone to get back on their feet again, but this one-stop-shop makes it possible in just one day!
Event guest guides play a vital role in making this event a great experience for everyone, providing a friendly face and a helping hand. Guides will be paired with a guest to make finding the right resources for guest needs a smooth process.
Resources include immediate needs like haircuts, showers, clothing items and more as well as long-term solutions like housing assistance, employment information, and counseling. Several shifts are available between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
