At the FAFSA Fiesta events, Thriving Together and Phoenix Union High School District work together to make filing FAFSA a fun event where the FAFSA application is easily accessible, along with any support needed to fill it out. With this level of support, families have access to financial assistance in their goals of furthering education.
Parents are encouraged to come with their students and W-2 to complete the application process.
Thriving Together is a Valley of the Sun United Way initiative. This initiative helps kids in Maricopa County succeed by discovering potential roadblocks in a student’s educational journey and creating long-term solutions to improve the system, like providing free, in-person assistance for what can be a confusing application.
FAFSA is a financial aid option for students going into college or career schools. After submitting a free application, students are presented with the options they qualify for in order to assist in the payment of their college or career school costs such as tuition, room and board, books, and more. These aid options come from the federal government in forms of grants, work-study options, or low interest loans.
Join the FAFSA Fiesta by volunteering to become a part of the community supporting high school students and parents, assisting them with completion of their application. Volunteers do not have to have extended knowledge of FAFSA, experts will be there to help with any questions you may need help answering.
