The Mesa InterStake Center was packed last Thursday as guests, volunteers, and providers came together to break the cycle of poverty at Project Connect. At this event, held almost monthly, guests experiencing or near homelessness are able to connect with providers that assist with employment, housing, and other long-term needs, as well as immediate needs like clothing, food, and hygiene.
In Mesa we hosted 333 volunteers who assisted 365 guests in obtaining a total of 2399 service connections. Through these connections with the 41 available providers, guests are able to cut down the time it can take to see all the providers they may need to see to change their situation. In fact, 92% of guests said their overall situation improved.
