The Arizona Cardinals with Valley of the Sun United Way are helping schools across Arizona get into gear for the new school year with Character Playbook. The program started in Arizona last year, coaching 3,262 students at 42 schools about healthy relationships and resolving conflict.
Middle school and high school are a big part of when and how a child’s social skills develop into their adulthood. Sometimes, kids learn through their personal experiences without having any insight on how things can go differently. That’s why Character Playbook is continuing to reach out to middle school and high school students, helping them to build healthy perceptions of relationships.
After taking the course, students were showing improved social skills with a better understanding of how to handle everyday situations and understand their emotions. In addition to building skills for person-to-person interaction, students also showed a strong confidence in themselves and their expectations.
We have been able to make this program possible thanks to the NFL, AZ Cards, Verizon and our donors
