On the hot streets of Maricopa County, people are experiencing homelessness every day. Inside homes and apartments that once felt safe, there are families who are one unexpected expense away from being at risk of losing everything.
For some, the thoughts that ring out may say, "Hope is lost," or, "I have never been in this position before and have no idea what resources are available." Even if the resources and steps to take are clear, getting around to each location to put all the pieces back together could take a lot of time, and time is already short.
That’s why Project Connect is so important. People who are currently experiencing or nearly homeless can discover and use many vital resources all in one place, in one day. People like Gina have already started to get back on their feet and are ready to unite against the cycle of poverty.
Whether you’re looking for a place to take a shower, get some new clothes, pick up a birth certificate and social security card, find information on housing, employment, or other information, Project Connect can help you.
Thanks to more than 30 partners and over 145 volunteers, we were able to connect nearly 200 people to 1,113+ services in a single day! These connections are making a difference. Of the guests on July 26, 63% had never been to a Project Connect before and 73% received services they were unable to receive prior to Project Connect.
You can join in the fight for individuals and families to have a safe place to call home. Sign up today to volunteer at our next Project Connect on September 7th at Sun Valley Community Church in Tempe.
