At Project Connect on September 20th, held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tempe, the 300+ volunteers that attended saw first-hand that there is no single solution to poverty. In partnership with Valley of the Sun United Way, 36 partners came together to join the fight to break the cycle of poverty.
Because of these partners, the nearly 300 guests were connected to more than 2,300 services in just one day. Of all the guests that attended this month, 93% said their situation has improved after attending.
Our wonderful volunteers took the time to connect with fellow community members one on one as a guest guide for a day to help make this possible. If you want to know what it means to be a guest guide, learn more here and see what one of our great volunteers at this event had to say in the video below.
Thanks to our partners at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - Tempe West Stake, Basic Mission, City of Tempe, Wells Fargo, QuikTrip, Edward Jones, UPS, Maricopa Community College District, Northern Trust, Nationwide, Ingram Micro, GM Financial, and many others for your help at Project Connect.
You can join the fight to end poverty in Maricopa County by joining us at our next Project Connect! On Thursday, November 1st we will be at South Mountain Community College. Sign up today!
