The WLC Steering Committee met in January to set a new and exciting course for our future. The packed agenda included creative and strategic brainstorms, resulting in an update to both our “mission” and “focus” statements. These changes allow the Steering Committee to streamline, but also offer more flexible opportunities for all WLC members. Thus 2016 will feature mission-focused programming plus educational, volunteer, social and funding avenues to delight and engage.
Updated Mission: Inspiring and connecting philanthropic women to equip our community for success.
Updated Focus Area: Preparing every child for success.
Importantly, we want to provide a range of opportunities so you can advocate and support the United Way by giving, volunteering, and inspiring others to join in creating lasting change for our community. That’s now possible. Whether that’s by providing Breakfast in the Classroom or improving early childhood literacy, we are now poised to diversify our efforts to prepare every child for success. You asked and we delivered flexibility and focus.
