By the time an individual reaches St. Joseph the Worker (SJW), chances are they have walked through, or are currently grappling with, some type of heavy and taxing experience such as homelessness, extreme poverty, incarceration, physical and/or emotional violence and sadly the list can go on.
In addition to offering the tangible resources and knowledge required for a successful job search, SJW is in the business or building people back up. Most likely a person’s self-confidence has been rocked by turbulent times and the idea of job searching seems just plain scary, if not impossible. SJW acknowledges this and offers support; sharing that a person is not defined solely by their hardship and that this is not the end of their story.
SJW is thrilled to venture into a new opportunity that allows us to hone in and focus even more on empowering our community’s vulnerable population – that of Tailor Made for Success. Made possible in partnership with Dress for Success Phoenix, Tailor Made for Success is SJW’s newest Valley service location with an especially unique twist: a top of the line men’s boutique geared solely towards empowerment and confidence building.
At Tailor Made for Success, SJW is able to connect with unemployed and/or underemployed men in an upscale, dignified space and personally outfit them with a quality wardrobe for their job search and interview. Through this one-on-one attention and provision of professional clothing, SJW conveys that we care, believe in their ability to succeed, and are invested in their future. This is often the first time many men receive this type of positive messaging and support.
From there, once we have worked on building confidence and rapport, SJW can then address other critical aspects of one’s job search, such as:
SJW wholeheartedly believes in the power and potential of Tailor Made for Success as it is riding the wave of the agency’s existing and thriving community outreach, where SJW is delivering its quality workforce development services through 83 social service partner agencies at 111 satellite locations across Maricopa County. In fact, the success of SJW’s community expansion is evidenced by the agency going from 925 new hires in fiscal year 12/13 to over 3,883 during fiscal year 16/17!
SJW also believes in the promise of Tailor Made for Success as we have every confidence in Dress for Success Phoenix. Our existing partnership of three years allows SJW to witness first-hand that Dress for Success Phoenix is an expert in their work of empowering women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. SJW is honored and proud to step into this next chapter with Dress for Success Phoenix; a trusted and valued partner. Together we are suiting up to offer dignity, create empowerment, and change lives!

Molly Pino is the Development Director with St. Joseph the Worker; helping to create and implement strategic plans to raise vital support and build sustainability for the agency. While Molly's 14 years of nonprofit experience has focused on serving in administrative capacities, her heart remains rooted in the mission and work as she continually witnesses the life-changing miracles that are possible with right resources. Molly is honored to serve at St. Joseph the Worker; sharing that "this amazing place that empowers thousands of disadvantaged men and women each year also empowers me and I'm incredibly grateful for that."
Molly holds a BA in journalism from Arizona State University and a Master's in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University.
Molly is a rescue-boxer lover and enjoys traveling the Southwest with her husband in their teardrop trailer. GO DEVILS!
