Nationwide, USDA is reporting a decrease in food insecurity. This is an indicator that hunger-relief efforts that donors, volunteers, and organizations made possible, like emergency food, meals, SNAP benefits, and programs like Breakfast in the Classroom are having a positive impact on the lives of children, families, and individuals experiencing food insecurity. But, the work is far from done.
Thanks to our donor support, we are able to provide 520 WeekEnd Hunger Backpacks every Friday during the school year. This year, the backpacks include pantry staples like rice, pasta, and items for family meals to help feed an entire family for a weekend.
You can be a part of our fight to end hunger in Maricopa County, your generous donation keeps programs like this alive.
