Emerging Leaders Become Loaned Executives

Emerging leaders in a company are a great sign of a strong team. To support these leaders, companies often seek out opportunities for professional development. The perfect opportunity to build project management, public speaking, and other organizational skills while also giving back to the community is the Loaned Executive (LE) Program with Valley of the Sun United Way.

Companies can offer their employees a unique learning experience with numerous benefits as LEs serve as ambassadors for United Way within our local community. The LEs work with the United Way Development Officers to help create fundraising goals, design campaign strategies, and support corporate philanthropy in the Valley’s top companies.

Welcome to This Year’s LEs!

“We are thrilled to have each of the Loaned Executives with us to help bring awareness to the impact Valley of the Sun United Way is making in our community. We have an excellent group of 7 LE’s with us this campaign season, who each bring their own unique skills and point of view to our organization. They have already made powerful presentations and are connecting our corporate partners to our mission.” – Bailey Lloyd, Senior Development Officer

A special thank you to APS, SRP, and QuikTrip for loaning us their employees this year. Find out what our new LEs are excited to learn, both personally and professionally, by checking out their videos here!

Loan Your Employee to the LE Program

When you loan your rising star to the LE Program they will work 40 hours per week for 16 weeks starting July 22. Full-time LEs manage multiple corporate accounts and work out of United Way’s office. Having an employee from your company in the program shows how much of a community leader your organization is through United Way campaign events, website, and program materials.

In addition to others seeing your company being active in breaking the cycle of poverty, your LE will build networks with leading companies and community leaders. This experience helps employees to gain a better understanding of your company’s commitment to the community. Inspire your employees to grow into leadership as they undergo mentorship through a variety of meaningful experiences and hands-on education of poverty in Maricopa County.

“One of the biggest takeaways that I have learned from this experience is just how involved in the community Valley of the Sun United Way is and how important this program is to that. There is so much to what we do and everyone else does here that you can’t put it into words. I would have to say that I would do it all over again if I was given the chance. You learn so much about yourself as well the people around you. It is incredible to think about how much one person can make such a big difference and you can see that with the work that we do here. I will never forget what VSUW does for the people in the community, but also I will never forget what they did for me. This place will always have a special place in my heart. Thank You!” — Chris Wood, QuickTrip
