Our county policy priorities aim to enhance the lives of Maricopa County residents.

housing and homelessness priorities

MC2026 GOAL: Ensure all can have a safe home to call their own. Reduce the number of families and individuals entering or experiencing homelessness by 50%.

  1. Build relationships with new Board of Supervisors to advocate for heat relief, cash assistance, shelter & the Threshold program.

health priorities

MC2026 GOAL: Remove barriers to ensure everyone in our community is healthy, with focus on access to food and health care. Decrease food insecurity by 50%. Increase the number of individuals with access to affordable care by 100,000.

  1. Support Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) that will dictate and shape the county’s public health priorities.
    1. Through CDE Health Director’s efforts as a member of the HIPMC Steering Committee, a federally mandated advisory board for Maricopa County Public Health, continue to ensure VSUW priorities of increasing access to health care and decreasing food security are implemented through the CHIP.
