JPMorgan Chase creates a path to youth success.
Valley of the Sun United Way recently received $100,000 from JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPMC) to support the Aspire Pathways: Middle-Skills Youth Workforce Development Initiative for the 2016-17 fiscal year. This grant marks the third year of funding from JPMC, which totals $310,000. Since 2009, JPMC has supported several United Way programs.
Support provided to United Way is part of JPMC’s local workforce readiness funding focus. The goal of this funding initiative is to strengthen middle-skills in high-demand business sectors and create pathways to quality jobs. This focus is critical in helping break the cycle of poverty and move youth from low-income families toward self-sufficiency and greater earning potential.
Aspire Pathways provides technical skills training to high school students, from low-income households, to prepare them for middle-skills jobs with upward salary mobility. Generous funding from JPMC is helping provide 240 youth with training within the energy, advanced manufacturing, automotive and healthcare business sectors.
United Way greatly appreciates the ongoing support JPMC has given to important programs, like Aspire Pathways, to help make the future brighter for Arizona’s youth.
