Summer Heat Relief

Working to support our partner nonprofit organizations and the families they serve, Valley of the Sun United Way works with our community and corporate partners to collect bottled water and other heat relief items for those experiencing homelessness.

On any given day, more than 9,600 individuals experience homelessness in Maricopa County

As temperatures continue to rise in Maricopa County, so does the need for heat relief resources for those experiencing homelessness.

The Situation

With Summer heat comes the increased and consistent need for access to essential items like water, hats, sunscreen and lip balm to protect those experiencing homelessness. Working to support our partner nonprofit organizations and the families they serve, Valley of the Sun United Way works to collect bottled water and other heat relief items.

The Goal

Collect and distribute bottled water and heat relief items to nonprofit partners who are creating Mighty Change by providing hope and hydration to our community’s most vulnerable neighbors.
