Valley of the Sun United Way relies on donations to continue our work in Maricopa County. Funds from individuals, corporate partners and others are put right back into our community. These generous contributions allow us to operate, host volunteer events, run community programs and provide much-needed funding to local nonprofits.
One way you can help support our work is by shopping on AmazonSmile.
AmazonSmile is a separate webpage that allows you to shop on Amazon while supporting your favorite charitable organization. Amazon will donate funds on your behalf each time you shop. The cost of items is exactly the same and the donation comes directly from Amazon, it doesn’t cost you a dime extra.
You can choose from nearly one million organizations to support on AmazonSmile, including Valley of the Sun United. Simply select Valley of the Sun United Way as your nonprofit of choice before you shop. You will then use Smile.Amazon.Com to shop.
Valley of the Sun United Way will receive 0.5% from each eligible purchase, every time you shop. We will continue to receive donations after the Prime Day sale.
Yes, Amazon will make donations during Prime Day when you use your AmazonSmile account. In recent years, Amazon even increased donations during the sale. In 2021, Amazon doubled its donation rate during the 2-day sale.
The 2022 Prime Day Sale will take place on Tuesday, July 12th and Wednesday, July 13th.
Yes! You can designate Valley of the Sun United Way as your AmazonSmile charity on your app! Follow these directions to easily set it up.
1. Open your Amazon app
2. Tap the control tab (three bars on the bottom right) from the home page
3. Scroll down to the ‘Settings’ drop down menu
4. Select ‘AmazonSmile’
5. Select ‘turn on AmazonSmile’
6. Follow the prompts to set up your account

Millions of items on Amazon are currently eligible for donations. When you shop, you will see those items marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation.” Subscribe-and-Save purchases are not currently eligible.
Yes! Valley of the Sun United Way always accepts donations for our Gifts-in-Kind program. Your donations will be given to people directly, donated to nonprofits in need or used in our community outreach programs (Pantry Packs, Heat Relief Kits, etc).
