Weekdays During the School Year

Serve as virtual reading tutors for high-need elementary schools in Maricopa County with Vello! No previous tutoring or teaching experience is required! Volunteers will provide 1:1 tutoring for 30 minutes each week to 1st – 3rd grade students with the ability to tutor from anywhere with an Internet connection. Office, home, smart phone, laptop, or PC, Vello makes the process easy and efficient with an online portal to facilitate training, tutor coaching, scheduling, and virtual connections through a web meeting software called Zoom.

Desert Mission Food Bank (Map)
Desert Mission is a Valley of the Sun United Way partner with a food distribution program that provides monthly food packages for individuals and families in crisis. Volunteers are needed to assist individuals in the market area, helping people get items to their vehicles, and sorting, bagging and possibly assembling snack packs.

Southwest Human Development (Map)
With Southwest Human Development, we are preparing books for literacy programs across the valley. Volunteers will be sorting, packing, and shelving books to be sent out.
