Great ideas come from collaboration with leaders in neighborhoods, which is why Valley of the Sun United Way is introducing the Operation Uplift Micro-grant Program to maximize the impact this movement can have.
Uniting with co-workers to break the cycle of poverty in the Valley through a short activity is a one-of-a-kind experience. That’s what makes opportunities like Encouragement Cards and assemblies for WeekEnd Hunger Backpacks or School Readiness Kits so special.

Join Valley of the Sun United Way for an Operation Uplift activity celebrating Read Across America Day, Dr. Seuss’s birthday, for a whole week from February 25th to March 1st. Start a reading event of your own at a local school or program!
Last Thursday and Friday at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum, nearly 2,000 veterans currently experiencing or near homelessness came to receive services such as housing assistance, legal help, and more.

If you are looking for a hands-on way to spread the love this Valentine’s Day season, join us at any of these volunteer activities this month!

Our hearts are full this week after experiencing the amazing impact from Operation Uplift’s volunteer event at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center.

Each year, Maricopa County StandDown gathers volunteers to help hundreds of veterans experiencing or near homelessness in the Valley.

In the spirit of Dr. MLK Jr., feelings of inclusivity, encouragement, giving, caring, assisting, and uniting instead of dividing are important ways to spend this day on, not off, to connect with each other.

Each year at the We Are United Luncheon, we see more and more great people who make our fight for kids possible. This year, as we partner with a powerful keynote speaker, we know we will make an even bigger impact still.
