Every year, Arizona State University Fraternity and Sorority students participate in a week-long competition to raise money for local charities, including Valley of the Sun United Way. The competition is called Greek Week: Sun Devils Unite. It takes place in the spring each school year.
Greek week is an annual tradition that promotes community service through team building events. Fraternities and sororities form teams and compete in different events throughout the week. Each team sets a fundraising goal and raises money throughout the week.
Over the past eight years, students have raised money for Valley of the Sun United Way through Greek Sing. Students perform 10-minute lip-syncing/dance routines in front of a panel of judges. The routines include information about our community initiatives. Each group can continue to raise money through the end of the competition. Students have raised more than $280,000 for our organization since 2014.
This amazing donation will help us achieve our goals to end homelessness, fight hunger, improve equity in education, and increase financial stability for families in Maricopa County. Every dollar makes a difference. Learn how you can donate.
You’re never too young to do something great. Young people across the country are improving their local communities through the Student United Way group. Sun Devils Unite at Arizona State University joins more than 60 Student United Ways on campuses across the U.S. Events are hosted by ASU student organizations with the purpose of connecting students to the important mission of Valley of the Sun United Way.
