The perfect opportunity to build project management, public speaking, and other organizational skills while also giving back to the community
The Loaned Executive (LE) Program is an integral component of Valley of the Sun United Way. It provides an opportunity for companies to offer employees a unique learning experience with numerous benefits. Loaned Executives serve as ambassadors for United Way within our local community during our peak campaign season.
A Loaned Executive will work with the United Way Resource Development team to help develop fundraising goals, design campaign strategies and help support the corporate philanthropy efforts in the Valley’s top companies. Your employee will gain transferable skills through intensive training and numerous leadership and networking opportunities.
Your company will gain high visibility within the community, while your employee receives a significant career enrichment opportunity. Make this lasting investment in your best employees and your community through the Loaned Executive Program.
For the first two weeks of a 16-week period, the Loaned Executive will receive training that includes a structured professional development curriculum covering communication and presentation skills, project management skills, and interpersonal and management competencies.
Participants will engage in the community through group volunteer projects, tours of partner organizations, and by speaking with various audiences about the work of Valley of the Sun United Way.
The program will emphasize networking and mentorship through a variety of meaningful experiences to educate and inspire your Loaned Executive. From building relationships with key corporate contacts and presenting to different audiences, participants will expand their professional networks and advance in their careers. Their advocacy will help support both your organizations commitment to the community as well as the employee’s personal community outreach skills.
“My Loaned Executive (LE) experience was fun making new friends while working in teams to better serve the Valley of the Sun United Way and the local community. It has lead me to other leadership and community service activities in my local community of Tempe.”
- Javier F. Luera, Past Loaned Executive - Senior Engineer
(40 hours per week for 16 weeks)
Companies loan their employee(s) to United Way and release them from day-to-day responsibilities for the duration of the program. Full-time Loaned Executives manage multiple corporate accounts and work out of United Way’s office.
(Service period is August - November each year.)
Companies who are unable to loan an employee, can financially sponsor a Loaned Executive recruited and vetted through our program application process. Your company will be recognized as a sponsor of the program. In addition, the Loaned Executive sponsorship is recognized as part of your corporate workplace fundraising campaign.
Join community leaders and others in making a difference in your community through the Loaned Executive Program.
