Kids across the Valley are improving their reading skills thanks to the help of passionate professionals and Vello!
Since the program launched last year, students, teachers, families, and volunteers are seeing a difference. When they were surveyed at the end of the year, 100% of teachers strongly agreed that Vello improves the reading skills of tutored students. Nearly 90% of volunteers stated that Vello gave them an opportunity to get involved with the community that they wouldn’t otherwise have without the program. See more findings here.
With Vello, volunteers can tutor kids online anywhere they have a computer and internet connection! This makes volunteering very easy, allowing employees to volunteer for just 30 minutes a week, making a huge impact for schools in our neighborhood, while remaining efficient in their job.

Thanks to partners like Burns & McDonnell who sponsor Vello in local classrooms and coordinate volunteer teams, students are now getting the 1:1 guided reading assistance they need to be successful. Without our community fighting for kids, classrooms wouldn’t have access to the computer, software, video and audio sharing system, or other equipment needed to make Vello possible. Now is the time to be a hand-raiser and sponsor classrooms in our community to bring Vello to more students.
