The perfect opportunity to build project management, public speaking, and other organizational skills while also giving back to the community.
The Loaned Executive (LE) Program is a longstanding tradition providing participating companies the opportunity to offer valued employees and emerging leaders a unique experience to serve their community and grow as individuals and leaders. Loaned Executives serve as ambassadors for Valley of the Sun United Way (VSUW) within our local community throughout the year, primarily during our peak campaign season.
Loaned Executives work with United Way corporate relations managers and engagement staff to help create fundraising goals, design campaign strategies, execute engagement events and support corporate philanthropy in the Valley’s top companies. Collaboration between United Way and some of the Valley’s most respected companies brings tremendous value and supports corporate social responsibility goals, employee growth, recruitment, and retention and positions corporate brands in the community in a variety of positive ways.
For the first two weeks, LE’s undergo training on communication, presentation skills and project management skills, plus interpersonal and management competencies. We have found that participants quickly and naturally become passionate advocates for the community by engaging in group volunteer projects, touring partner organizations, attending campaign cabinet meetings and speaking events with various audiences surrounding the work of Valley of the Sun United Way. Loaned Executives will also join a passionate group of more than 500 Loaned Executive Alumni who are provided year-round opportunities to engage, network and advocate for Mighty Change.
(40 hours per week for 16 weeks)
Loan your employee(s) to United Way and release them from day-to-day responsibilities for the duration of the program (August 5, 2024 - November 22, 2024). Full-time LE’s manage multiple corporate accounts, assist with engagement events and work out of United Way’s office.
If you are unable to loan an employee, you can financially sponsor a LE who will be recruited and vetted through our program application process.
