StandDown 2018 Impact

On January 25th and 26th, a community came together for one cause – to help veterans. At the Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum people and pets from all over the Valley came through the annual Maricopa County StandDown event to end veteran homelessness.

How You Can Be a Part of Helping Veterans from Home

School Readiness for Kids Age 3 to 5

School Readiness Kits from Valley of the Sun United Way provide tips and tools for turning day to day tasks, like dinner or going for a walk in your local park or neighborhood, into lessons for your toddler that will help prepare them for school.

Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. in the Valley

Over the weekend community members came together to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. through philanthropy. Activities included garden preparation and building WeekEnd Hunger Backpacks.

A Kid’s Lesson on Money Management

Teaching your child about managing money, just as with any skill, will help them stay strong in that area when they get older.

Year-End Highlights

It’s the end of December and the new year is close by. As we look back at the accomplishments we achieved thanks to our volunteers, partners and donors this year, we are so thankful for all of the people in Maricopa County committed to joining the fight to break the cycle of poverty.
