Q: In today’s busy world, tell us one thing you do on a regular basis to ensure ‘self-care’.
A: I work out every day to stay healthy and fit, physically and mentally. As a survivor of cancer since the age of 15, my health is a top priority in my life. It is a lifestyle choice for me and I encourage everyone to take care of themselves- I always say, something is better than nothing.
Q: Tell us about a leadership trait that you possess and why you think it’s important.
A: I am grateful to lead with compassion. When we approach people with compassion, we will listen better, speak more kindly, and become a leader people are willing to follow.
Q: Women United focuses on ensuring that children are able to be successful in school by helping to fund programs that end hunger in the classroom. How do you like to engage in making an impact?
A: I like to engage in making an impact by being a spokesperson to create awareness, and also by volunteering directly for the cause. It’s important to show up and share a smile with those who are in need.
Q: What does ‘Sisterhood’ mean to you?
A: Sisterhood means coming together as a community of women to make an impact; using the best of our gifts and talents for the greater good.
Q: Why does Philanthropy matter?
A: Philanthropy matters because as human beings we are created to love. We all have the ability to make an impact, and once you give, you will realize that although others will have benefitted, you will be blessed as well by the experience.
Q: Tell us something that most people wouldn’t know about you.
A: I was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 15 through a routine sports physical. I have a twin brother. I have never used an emoji!
Q: Share your favorite inspirational quote.
A: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” - Gandi
Q: So often women are humble and don’t like to share their strengths and what they love about themselves, so we are asking you to do that now!
A: I am grateful for the ability to make people smile and feel included. I also am told that I motivate others to be healthy, and inspire positivity.
Q: What makes you laugh out loud?
A: I love to laugh, so I seek out people and positivity that will give me energy and good vibes!
