Timna Guerchon, started her career at Valley of the Sun United Way as a Loaned Executive Admin in 2011. Having enjoyed her experience, she came back to assist the LE program again in 2013 and was hired on full-time as the Volunteer Coordinator.
The ongoing pandemic has caused organizations like UMOM to reevaluate how to keep their workers and community safe while still providing essential services.
Through these unprecedented times, Stand for Children has used this as an opportunity assist and connect with children and families in different ways while working to understand the new landscape in front of them.
The United for the Valley COVID-19 fund provided resources to purchase the needed technology to ensure that students are still able to access their assignments and stay connected with their teachers.
We have the power to rebuild our communities and reimagine a better future for our children if we work together to help young people struggling in the wake of this virus.
With the help from the United for the Valley COVID-19 fund, NPFY is closing the gap and increasing their services to meet the safety and wellbeing of the most vulnerable youth in our community.
Through help from emergency funding from the United for the Valley COVID-19 grant, The Valley of the Sun YMCA has been able to allocate resources to critical needs areas ranging from child care and food programs, to virtual senior outreach.
